We only collect information essential for authenticating campus community members and fulfilling electric shuttle transit:

Google Workspace Profile

When you log in via Google OAuth, we access your institutional email address (ending in @paruluniversity.ac.in), your verified full name, and your profile image. This ensures only authorized university personnel access campus vehicles.

Location Services

Foreground Location Coordinates

With your explicit device permission, we access your precise or approximate latitude and longitude only while the application is active in the foreground. This allows you to view your location on the campus map and navigate to nearby EV pickup stands. We do not track or store your location when the app is closed or in the background.

Transit Logistics

Ride & Booking Records

When requesting an EV, we record the selected campus pickup stand, destination, booking code, request timestamps, and assigned shuttle vehicle/driver to coordinate dispatch and safe transit.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is strictly utilized for the following operational purposes:

  • Real-time Campus Transit: Displaying live electric vehicle locations and calculating walking distance to campus EV stands.
  • Ride Assignment: Notifying campus dispatchers and drivers of ride requests to assign available electric carts efficiently.
  • Status Updates: Sending in-app notifications regarding your ride status (e.g., booking confirmed, EV arriving, trip completed).
  • Campus Safety & Fleet Optimization: Monitoring fleet operational efficiency and resolving lost property or transit support inquiries.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

Parul University values your privacy and enforces strict access controls:

  • No Third-Party Commercial Sale: We never sell, rent, license, or monetize your personal information or location history to commercial brokers or advertisers.
  • No Advertisements: EV Ride contains zero advertisements and does not integrate ad-tracking SDKs.
  • Internal Transport Dispatch: Relevant booking details (passenger name, pickup point, destination) are transmitted securely to authorized campus shuttle drivers solely to fulfill the transport request.
  • Legal & Safety Requirements: We may disclose information if required by university disciplinary procedures or applicable laws.

5. Data Security & Storage

We maintain industry-standard physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards. All network communications between the mobile application and our backend servers are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). User authentication tokens are securely persisted in encrypted device storage (KeyStore on Android and Keychain on iOS).

7. Children's Privacy

EV Ride is intended solely for university students, faculty, and authorized campus visitors aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 13.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or accessing the EV Ride application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable university transport regulations. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the application.

2. User Eligibility & University Authentication

Access to EV Ride is restricted to students, faculty, administrative staff, and authorized guests of Parul University. You must sign in using your official university Google account (@paruluniversity.ac.in). You are responsible for all booking actions initiated under your authenticated profile.

3. Campus Ride Booking & Passenger Rules

  • Prompt Boarding: Electric vehicles operate on schedule across campus. Passengers must be present at their selected EV stand when their ride arrives.
  • Cancellations: If you no longer need transit, please cancel your booking promptly via the app so the cart can be dispatched to other students.
  • Passenger Conduct: Passengers must treat campus drivers and fellow passengers respectfully. Smoking, disruptive behavior, and overcrowding are strictly prohibited.
  • Luggage & Belongings: Passengers are solely responsible for their personal belongings. Parul University is not liable for lost items.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use EV Ride solely for legitimate campus transit purposes. You must not:

  • Submit fraudulent, automated, or abusive ride requests.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the application or vehicle tracking hardware.
  • Interfere with campus dispatch systems or transit operations.

5. Service Availability & Disclaimers

EV Ride is provided on an "as available" basis. While Parul University strives to maintain seamless campus mobility, shuttle availability may be affected by battery charging cycles, fleet maintenance, severe weather, or campus events. Parul University reserves the right to suspend or adjust transit operations without prior notice.

6. Modifications & Governing Law

Parul University reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any revisions. These terms are governed by the internal regulations of Parul University and applicable laws of Gujarat, India.
